2010 Members Letter from President George Fraser

I wish to thank each of you for your support in 2009 which was an interesting year of transition, economic challenges, redefinition and ultimately growth for the Historic Stock Car Racing Series.

Additions to the membership fold included Dan Green, Wes McNay, Mike Enos, Doug Schultz & Peter Beckham.

Our list of sponsors now include Bully Dog Performance, JR Racing Photography, Miller Graphics, Rhine Enterprises, TMFC, Club Auto Sport, Borelli Motorsports, Marin Luxury Cars, Goodyear and Pick n Pull.

2009 Track events included outings at Thunderhill in March with NCRC, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in April with SCCA, May at Reno-Fernley with HMSA, our top event “Club Auto Sport Uncorked at Mazda Raceway” in early September, the Coronado Speed Festival in late September and the “Born to Race” weekend with NASA at Infineon in October.

Our Ride of Your Life program was a major attention getter and fund raiser at both the Uncorked and Infineon events. The monies raised at Uncorked for the SPCA of Monterey County and at Infineon for the Boost Camp of Sonoma County raised our contribution totals to over $400,000 over the past 10 years.

Our members and cars continued to be prominently displayed in a number of vintage publications with a September article and cover page mention on our group in Vintage Motorsports Magazine as well as a feature report on the “Uncorked” event in Victory Lane being the media highlights in 2009.

A potential media item of note is that we are about to go international and are in process of setting up a branch of HSCRS in Australia. This will be news when we are ready to announce it and may be a connection leading to reciprocal racing opportunities between the members in both countries.

2010 Membership renewal fees remain at the same $175/year level and we would request that you please forward your checks to HSCRS, 521 Charcot Avenue, Suite 110, San Jose, CA 95131 no later than March 1. Posting of classified ads remains a free service for members with a charge of $75 per ad for non members.

The Competition committee welcomes their newest member, Darrin Alvernaz to the 2010 team.

For 2010 here is what we have currently listed on the schedule for your review and information. We hope that we see as many of you at each event listed, as possible.

We believe the key to our continued growth is to hold true to our standards, continue to attract gentlemen & lady drivers who understand that we are merely custodians of these cars and then to provide a proper environment to showcase these icons of American racing history.

I thank you again for your past participation and, in advance, for your continued support and consideration.

Regards,

George Fraser

HSCRS President
